- Happy Birthday Kii-Chan! We are all jealous of Julia-San because she was there to witness the greatest sister-pairing of them all: “HoriKita”! I remember during the “Dark Days” after Kii-Chan’s graduation, when we didn’t hear from her for awhile; it was Miona-Chan who listened to so many fan requests to have Kii-Chan on her YT channel, and that episode ended up being one of her top videos at the time. Miona-Chan loves all of her sisters, but the sense of caring and responsibility she has for Kii-Chan always shows, as proof of how relaxed and “at home” she is whenever they get together. In looking at the video today, I thought back on my time in Japan this summer, and the chance I had to visit Shizuoka and the “Shortcut to Adulthood” filming locations (including the famous “almost kiss” alley). The spirit of these two sisters is still very much there, and it felt very special to walk in their footsteps. Kii-Chan, I’m still not giving up on my wish for a 2nd generation / UnderGirl / Himetan reunion someday, and Setoda city on Ikuchijima is a good place to put the plan together; beaches, ryokans, Glamping, good food. . .I’m sure there are even plenty of gymnasiums to practice recalling all those dance moves. It is close enough to Hiroshima that even Himetan couldn’t complain, and a short ferry ride puts everyone into Onomichi, where Kana-Chan is worshipped as an Anime Goddess. If you get lost, just ask any of your STU48 sisters; they have visited the island so many times that they know it like the back of their hand!
